Prometric Exam for Pakistani Pharmacists, Physiotherapists and Lab Technologists 2026: GCC Licensing Guide for Pharm.D, DPT and BS MLT Holders with Council Registration, HEC Attestation, DataFlow, Exam Centres in Pakistan, Fees in PKR and Salaries

How pharmacists, physiotherapists and medical laboratory technologists from Pakistan get licensed and hired in the Gulf in 2026: which Pakistani degrees (Pharm.D, DPT, BS MLT, allied diplomas) map to each Gulf title, Pharmacy Council and provincial registration, Good Standing, HEC and MOFA attestation, DataFlow, Prometric centres in Pakistan, fees in PKR, preparation and salaries by country.

Pakistani nurses and doctors have a dedicated guide; this one is for the three allied professions that Gulf hospitals and pharmacies hire from Pakistan in the largest numbers: pharmacists, physiotherapists and medical laboratory technologists. Pakistan's degree structure is distinctive (a five-year Pharm.D, a five-year Doctor of Physical Therapy, a four-year BS Medical Laboratory Technology), and mapping it to the right Gulf title is the first step. Nurses and doctors should read the Pakistani nurses and doctors guide.

How Pakistani degrees map to Gulf titles

Pakistani qualification and registrationUsual Gulf titleExam code
Pharm.D (five years) with Pharmacy Council registration (Punjab, Sindh, KP or Balochistan council) and about two years of experiencePharmacist; Clinical Pharmacist at some authorities with hospital experiencePHO5481 or PHO5482
B.Pharm (older four-year degree) with registrationPharmacistPHO5481
Pharmacy diploma or Category B registrationPharmacy TechnicianPHT5451
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT, five years) with experiencePhysiotherapist; the "Doctor" title is not a physician classificationPHY5121
BS Physical Therapy (four years) with experiencePhysiotherapist at most authoritiesPHY5121
BS Medical Laboratory Technology (four years) with experienceMedical Laboratory TechnologistLAB5631
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (two to three years) with experienceMedical Laboratory TechnicianLAB5601

Two points catch Pakistani candidates: a DPT is classified as a physiotherapist, never as a doctor, and Pakistan has no single national register for physiotherapists or lab technologists, so authorities rely on the degree, experience letters and any provincial or faculty registration. Run the free eligibility check. Profession guides: pharmacists, physiotherapists, lab technologists.

Pakistani documents you need

  • Pharmacists: provincial Pharmacy Council registration certificate (Category A) and a Good Standing Certificate from the same council, ordered late in the DataFlow window (council guide).
  • Physiotherapists and lab technologists: degree and transcript, any provincial health department or faculty registration, and a university letter confirming the programme where no council exists; confirm with the target authority what it accepts.
  • HEC attestation of the degree, then MOFA attestation, then the destination embassy in Islamabad for Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar (attestation guide). Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are firm on the HEC step.
  • Experience certificates with exact dates, department, title and HR contacts on registered hospital, laboratory or pharmacy letterhead (format guide). Experience in an unregistered medical store or private lab is the commonest DataFlow failure.
  • Protector of Emigrants registration through the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment, via a licensed Overseas Employment Promoter or direct-employment approval, before departure.

Country by country for Pakistani allied health

DestinationWhat matters
Saudi Arabia (SCFHS)Largest employer; Mumaris+ classification, DataFlow, then the SPLE for pharmacists or the classification exam for allied titles; hospital pharmacy demand is strong while community pharmacy is affected by Saudisation (Saudi pharmacist route, Saudi physio route)
UAE (DHA, DOH, MOHAP)You can open your own file and pass before an offer; strong private sector for all three professions; many Pakistani candidates start with MOHAP (DHA pharmacist licence, DHA physio licence, DHA lab licence)
Qatar (QCHP/DHP)Employer-opened file; Hamad and private hospitals; English test common for hospital posts
Kuwait (MOH)Employer-opened file; strict attestation; steady demand for pharmacists and lab staff
Bahrain and OmanSmaller markets; Bahrain allows licensing before an offer

The exam

Each title has its own Prometric paper of 100 to 150 MCQs in 2 to 3 hours with a pass mark of about 50 to 60% (scaled at SCFHS). Pakistani candidates are typically strong in the sciences; the gaps our tutors see are Gulf dispensing law and controlled drugs for pharmacists, pacing for physiotherapists and quality-control rules for lab staff. Prometric centres operate in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, with seats that fill weeks ahead during drives (test centres). Prepare with the Pharmacist bank, Physiotherapist bank or Lab Technologist bank (three timed mocks each, free chapter 1) and the free sample questions for pharmacists, physiotherapists and lab technologists.
