Prometric Exam for Egyptian Dentists and Physiotherapists 2026: GCC Licensing Guide for BDS, Master's and MD Dental Degrees and Physical Therapy Graduates with Syndicate Registration, Attestation, DataFlow, Exam Centres in Egypt, Fees in EGP and Salaries

How dentists and physiotherapists from Egypt get licensed and hired in the Gulf in 2026: how the Egyptian BDS, dental Master's and MD, and the Bachelor of Physical Therapy map to Gulf titles, Dental and Physical Therapy Syndicate registration and Good Standing, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassy attestation, DataFlow from Egyptian universities, Prometric centres in Cairo and Alexandria, fees in Egyptian pounds, which countries let you get licensed before an offer, employers and commission pay, and salaries in EGP.

Egypt is the Gulf's largest Arabic-speaking source of dentists and one of its largest sources of physiotherapists, and Arabic fluency gives Egyptian candidates an advantage in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar that Indian and Filipino competitors cannot match. The licensing route is straightforward, but Egyptian candidates have their own recurring problems: lapsed Syndicate membership, Master's degrees assumed to confer a specialist title, Arabic-language documents without certified translation, and experience in unregistered clinics. This guide covers each step for both professions. Egyptian doctors, pharmacists and nurses have their own guide (Egyptian doctors, pharmacists and nurses).

Egyptian documents you need

  • Syndicate registration and current membership: the Egyptian Dental Syndicate or the Egyptian General Syndicate of Physical Therapy. Membership must be active; a lapsed membership blocks the Good Standing certificate, so renew before applying.
  • Good Standing Certificate from the Syndicate, usually issued in one to three weeks and valid for about six months; order it late in the DataFlow window (Good Standing guide).
  • Degree, transcript and internship certificate in Arabic with certified English translation; the house officer (internship) certificate is separate from the degree and is verified with the university.
  • Attestation: Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs then the destination embassy in Cairo for Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar; the UAE accepts MOFA plus UAE embassy attestation; Oman and Bahrain usually handle it through the employer (attestation guide). Allow two to four weeks.
  • Experience certificates with exact dates, hours, procedures or caseload and contacts on letterhead of a registered clinic, hospital or centre, with certified translation if in Arabic (format guide). Experience in a private clinic without a Ministry of Health licence, or in a clinic that has closed, is the commonest DataFlow failure; include the clinic's licence where possible.
  • Military service completion or exemption certificate for men, required for the passport and often requested by Gulf employers.

Country by country for Egyptian dentists and physiotherapists

DestinationWhat matters
Saudi Arabia (SCFHS)The largest employer of Egyptian dentists and physiotherapists; Arabic is a strong advantage in Ministry of Health dental centres and rehabilitation services; Mumaris+ classification, DataFlow, then the SDLE for dentists or the classification exam for physiotherapists (SDLE guide, Saudi dentist route, Saudi physio route)
UAE (DHA, DOH, MOHAP)You can open your own file and pass before an offer; the Gulf's biggest private dental and physiotherapy market; MOHAP is the cheapest entry (Dubai dentist route, Dubai physio route)
Kuwait (MOH)Employer-opened file; strict attestation chain; a long tradition of Egyptian dentists in the Ministry of Health dental centres and Egyptian physiotherapists in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital (Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain dentist route, physio route)
Qatar (QCHP/DHP)Employer-opened file; Hamad dental and rehabilitation services and private clinics (Qatar dentist route, Qatar physio route)
Oman and BahrainSmaller markets; Bahrain lets you get licensed before an offer; Oman recruits Egyptian physiotherapists for regional rehabilitation services

The exam

The general dentistry paper is about 150 MCQs with clinical photographs and radiographs over roughly three hours, pass mark about 60% (SDLE scaled), covering restorative dentistry and endodontics, prosthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery and oral medicine, paediatric dentistry and orthodontics, radiology, pharmacology, infection control and ethics. The physiotherapy paper is 100 to 150 MCQs covering musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiorespiratory and paediatric rehabilitation, electrotherapy and exercise prescription, assessment and outcome measures, ethics and safety. Egyptian graduates are strong in clinical sciences; the gaps our tutors see are English-language question phrasing (the exam is in English), image-based diagnosis for dentists, evidence-based current protocols, and Gulf infection control and prescribing rules. Prometric centres operate in Cairo and Alexandria with good availability; book four to six weeks ahead (test centres). Prepare with the General Dentist bank or the Physiotherapist bank (three timed mocks, free chapter 1) and the free sample questions for dentists and physiotherapists; specialists use their specialty bank (Orthodontics, Endodontics, Prosthodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery).

Employers and how you are paid

Government dental centres and rehabilitation hospitals pay fixed salaries with housing or an allowance, tickets and gratuity, and in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait Egyptian dentists and physiotherapists are a large share of the workforce. Private dental clinics commonly pay a basic salary plus 25 to 40% of billing above a monthly target; ask whether commission is on billed or collected revenue and whether lab fees are deducted. Private physiotherapy pays a fixed salary in hospitals and clinics, with hourly or per-session rates in home care and sports settings. Join the dentist talent pool or the physiotherapist talent pool, and check offers against what to check before accepting.

Common problems for Egyptian applicants

  • Lapsed Syndicate membership: renew first; no Good Standing without it.
  • Master's assumed to be a specialist qualification: specialist titles are decided at evaluation from the degree, its length, the specialty and documented experience.
  • Arabic documents without certified translation: every document submitted to DataFlow and the authority needs a certified English translation.
  • Experience in unlicensed clinics: DataFlow cannot verify it; use licensed clinics and keep the clinic licence copy.
  • English exam phrasing: practise in English from the start; the clinical knowledge is rarely the problem.

Next steps

Check your title with the eligibility check, renew your Syndicate membership, start the free chapter 1 preview of your bank, begin MOFA and embassy attestation if you are targeting Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or Qatar, and join the GCC talent pool with your target countries so Gulf employers can request your profile.
