The SHA pathway from India
Indian nurses and doctors are the largest single group of candidates sitting GCC Prometric exams every year — Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Punjab alone account for tens of thousands of applications. The question most Indian candidates ask first is whether GNM is enough. For the UAE authorities, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman it typically is, provided you hold current council registration and around two years' experience after it. For Saudi Arabia, SCFHS usually classifies GNM as Nurse Technician, so BSc Nursing (or Post-Basic BSc) makes a real difference to the title and salary band you'll be offered.

Degrees usually need HRD / state attestation, then Indian MEA attestation, then embassy attestation for the destination country (UAE Embassy for the Emirates, Saudi Cultural Attaché for SCFHS). Budget 2–4 weeks and courier costs.

Common problems for Indian applicants
- State Nursing Council Good Standing letters that take 4–8 weeks to issue — request it before you start DataFlow so it's still inside the 6-month validity window
- NMC / State Medical Council registration in the old MCI format that verifiers can't match online
- Universities that respond slowly to DataFlow — deemed and private universities are usually faster than some older state universities
- Name mismatch between passport, degree certificate and council registration (a missing middle name or a different spelling is enough to stall DataFlow)
- Experience letters that don't state the hospital's bed count, your exact dates or the HR office contact details verifiers will phone
- Internship or house-job time counted as post-qualification experience — every GCC authority counts experience only after full registration
- Lapsed or un-renewed home-council registration at the time the Good Standing Certificate is requested
