The SHA pathway from Kenya
Kenyan nurses and doctors have become a notable recruitment focus for Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar in recent years, supported by government-to-government labour agreements. GCC regulators are increasingly familiar with the NCK and KMPDC registers and with MMed-trained specialists.

Verification of Kenya-issued documents typically takes 6–10 weeks — the longest single step in the SHA process.
Documents typically need Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Nairobi) attestation, then destination-embassy attestation. Some Gulf embassies ask for a KNQA or university confirmation letter first.
Once SHA issues your eligibility ID you can book any of these centres — or any Prometric centre in the Gulf — from your Prometric account. Centre availability changes; book as early as your preparation allows.

Common problems for Kenyan applicants
- NCK and KMPDC retention (annual practising licence) lapsed when Good Standing is requested — renew before applying
- KMTC and county hospital records that take weeks to respond to DataFlow verifiers
- Experience letters that don't distinguish community / public-health posting from ward-based clinical experience
- Name mismatch between passport, degree certificate and council registration (a missing middle name or a different spelling is enough to stall DataFlow)
- Experience letters that don't state the hospital's bed count, your exact dates or the HR office contact details verifiers will phone
- Internship or house-job time counted as post-qualification experience — every GCC authority counts experience only after full registration
- Lapsed or un-renewed home-council registration at the time the Good Standing Certificate is requested
