OMSB Exam for Egyptian Nurses & Doctors
How Egyptian nurses and doctors get licensed by the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) in Oman — which Egypt qualifications are accepted, DataFlow from Egypt, fees in EGP and where to sit the exam.
The OMSB pathway from Egypt
Egyptian doctors, pharmacists and nurses have worked in Gulf hospitals for decades, and the shared language gives Egyptian candidates a real advantage in patient-facing roles across Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar. The regulators know the Egyptian qualification ladder well — which cuts both ways, because they also know exactly how a Master's, an MD and the Egyptian Fellowship differ.
The classification question Egyptian doctors ask most is whether an MSc is enough for Specialist. Usually it isn't on its own: MD, Egyptian Fellowship or Arab Board are what most authorities read as full specialist qualifications, while an MSc with substantial documented specialty experience is considered case by case. Get the answer before you pay for DataFlow.
OMSB certifies physicians in Oman; MOH Oman handles allied health, nursing and pharmacy licences. Read the full OMSB licensing guide and the Oman licensing overview for the complete document checklist.

Documents typically need Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs attestation, then destination-embassy attestation in Cairo. Translations should be from a certified translation office and attested with the originals.
Once OMSB issues your eligibility ID you can book any of these centres — or any Prometric centre in the Gulf — from your Prometric account. Centre availability changes; book as early as your preparation allows.

| Total (indicative) | $800 – $2,150 | ≈ E£40,000 – E£107,500 |
Excludes attestation, certified translations, courier, travel to the exam centre and any re-sit fees. The OMSB exam fee shown ($200 – $280, about ≈ E£10,000 – E£14,000) comes from the authority's published range.
Common problems for Egyptian applicants
- Arabic-language certificates submitted without certified English translations — DataFlow and the authorities require sworn translations of every document
- Master's degree submitted expecting Specialist classification, then downgraded because the specialty experience isn't separately documented
- Syndicate membership card used instead of a formal Good Standing letter from the syndicate
- Name mismatch between passport, degree certificate and council registration (a missing middle name or a different spelling is enough to stall DataFlow)
- Experience letters that don't state the hospital's bed count, your exact dates or the HR office contact details verifiers will phone
- Internship or house-job time counted as post-qualification experience — every GCC authority counts experience only after full registration
- Lapsed or un-renewed home-council registration at the time the Good Standing Certificate is requested
Most of these are cheap to fix before DataFlow starts and expensive afterwards — the free eligibility check flags them from your documents.
